Jeff Goldberg, the designer of the JayGee Racing Linear 200 controller,
wrote a series of articles on electronic controller design that appeared in
Slotcar Bulletin. The first installment appeared in issue #85 and
explained the differences and tradeoffs between linear power transistor
and switched mosfet based controllers. Subsequent installments went
into details of how to design a linear response controller and how to build
the prototype of our first generation Linear 100 controller using
components easily obtainable by hobbyists.
New!
The (almost) complete manuscript, including schematics for positive and
negative wired versions of the Linear 100 prototype is now available
on-line. JayGee Racing also has a limited quantity of bare Linear 100
24-band wiper boards, with assembly instructions, to assist you in
building your own controller.
